Wellness Principles

Integrating new practices into our lives nourishes the soil in which lasting health can take root. At the same time, wellness is much more than how many antioxidants we take and how faithfully we exercise.   Wellness is an inner state of resilience that we can cultivate regardless of our physical circumstance. It’s in how wisely and mindfully we live our lives, in every moment, with every breath, to the best of our ability.

There are many forces over which we have no control, but clients are often surprised to discover how much they can do to alleviate suffering and revitalize their lives.  Over time we come to feel less at the mercy of life as we develop the strength of our own agency within it.

Equally important, I appreciate that we have choices about how we respond emotionally.  Bitterness, rage, despair and self-pity only exacerbate our difficulties. Chronic disease, acute emergencies, and life in general are all more manageable from a place of equanimity.  I will provide you with the tools and emotional support to more skillfully handle every situation.

In the spirit of teaching a person to fish that they may eat for a lifetime, I will coach you to champion your own wellness and be your own best advocate.
